Community Care Officer helps rebuild service user’s confidence

28.06.2022

One of our community care officers recently provided excellent support to a service user whose confidence had been affected following a chest infection and resulting hospital stay.

The staff member visited regularly throughout the week to assist with showering and meal preparation, which included showing the service user how to use their microwave. This also helped ease the service user’s concerns about using their main oven for long periods of time amid rising energy costs.

While they were there, the community care officer also assisted the service user with paying their bills, helping them complete a benefits application and assuring them it had been sent away properly.

At the end of the enablement period the service user’s confidence had improved to the point where they wanted to get out in the community again – a fantastic outcome!

We’d like to thank this community care officer for being a credit to EAHSCP and for helping return confidence to this service user.

Your feedback helps us identify areas for improvement and continue to provide the highest quality service possible.
